Sad News: the passing of ADM Tony Rowley

Dear 7th Fleet,

It is with great sadness that I report on the passing of former USS Malverne commanding officer ADM Tony Rowley, who also served as one of my VRCs when I served as Regional Coordinator in the 1990s. Tony had also served as R7 Chief of Staff and was part of Mike Smith’s staff when he was CS.

Tony died in a fire on Saturday from smoke inhalation and his wife is currently in the hospital. His child Max escaped the fire. We pray for his family. Many long time R7 & STARFLEET members, remember Tony and his work for the organization … the many fun times we shared at ICs, R7 Conferences, conventions and other regional activities. His untimely death was shocking to learn and I spoke to many people who knew him last night.

This is one of the articles concerning the fire. Complete details were not yet available. At least 1 dead, 7 injured, including firefighter, in Drexel Hill apartment fire – CBS Philadelphia

Tony was involved with the fire department for many years. He was also active with the Civil Air Patrol. He will definitely be missed.

Sincerely,
ADM Bob Vosseller
Region 7 Coordinator
CO USS Challenger NCC-1676-D
