What are the awards?
Awards are a way to recognize our regional members and the ships they serve on for the outstanding work that they do all year.
Why should I submit for an award?
We all have heroes on our ships, people that do above and beyond the call of duty. Let them know that they are appreciated in our region. As well, some awards winners receive a trophy that is perfect for placing on a recruitment table. How better to show off your chapter?
Can anyone submit a nomination?
Nominations for regional awards must be submitted by either a CO or an authorized representative.
How can I submit the nomination?
Once you gather your information on the individual or chapter, you will need to submit on the R7 website under “AWARDS”. You can write the essay on a processing program first then copy and paste.
When are the nominations due?
Nominations will be accepted from March 1 until April 15 at midnight EDT. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Who can receive a Region 7 award?
Any member of a Region 7 chapter that is in good standing with STARFLEET.
How often can I submit member of my crew for Awards?
Chapters may submit their recommendations annually, unless it is for a merit award. If you want to present the merit award for a particular event, it would be helpful to receive the recommendations at least one month before you need them for your awards presentations. We encourage all Regional Personnel to use the program as often as possible.
If I have questions, comments or suggestions for the awards program, who do I send them to? You can send them to the Awards Director. The Awards Committee will discuss them and get more information on the idea if necessary.
Does everyone who is recommended for an award receive one?
NO, but a majority do! You have to be in it to win it!
Anything else I should know?
Please make sure that your entries give the BEST possible COMPLETE picture of the nominees (chapters or crew). Remember the judges will only have what is written on paper to make their decisions by. Your goal is to make your nominations shine above the rest
My chapter cannot possibly compete with some of the larger chapters in the Region why should I bother to enter?
You’ll never know unless you try! None of the winners of the past Annual Awards thought that they were going to win either…and yet they now have trophies….
